Facilities Maintenance Engineering (FaME)

Facilities Maintenance Engineering usually refers to the application of techniques, engineering skills, professionalism and effort which are being organized to ensure that the design and development of and equipment provide efficient and effective economical maintenance. This includes anything from TPM to IT Based Assistance inspections to make sure they are functioning properly.

Upon this realization, a curriculum has been structured to fill up the above needs. “Bachelor Engineering Technology in Facilities Maintenance Engineering” aimed to produce graduates specialize in Facilities Maintenance Engineering technologists.

This program aims to produce graduates that are Professionals with Leadership Skills, Knowledgeable and Competent which able to manage plant to serve industrial needs in technical, facilities and safety management while respecting green environment.

Bachelor

Malaysian University Examination Test (MUET) : Band 2

AND

A Pass Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or its equivalent, with minimum Grade C (CGPA 2.0) in 3 subjects including Mathematics and one science subject and A Pass in (SPM)or its equivalents and a pass in English

OR

A Pass in Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 in relevant fields from UniKL or from other recognized higher learning institutions by Malaysian Government

OR

Pass in UniKL Foundation in Science and Technology or its equivalents from UniKL or other recognized higher learning institutions by Malaysian Government with a minimum CGPA of 2.0; OR Pass in Matriculation in relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 2.0.

Pass in International Baccalaureate (IB) with at least 24 points

Overview

Facilities Maintenance Technologist maintain the buildings and grounds of an organization, directing staff and overseeing the upkeep of equipment and supplies. Facilities Maintenance Technologist scheduling repair, renovation projects, waste reduction improvements and safety inspections.

Facilities Maintenance Technologist are in charge of a budget and must negotiate with outside vendors for supplies, repairs and other measures. In larger companies, facilities managers oversee groundskeepers, maintenance workers, and custodial staff.
