Postgraduate Studies

Its functioning mainly to manage all aspects of postgraduate studies at UniKL, and in liaison with institutes, the admission, monitoring and also evaluation of theses and examinations. IPS will be responsible to coordinate, organize and ensure uniformity in the implementation of various postgraduate courses and programmes. In addition, IPS will also be involved in obtaining accreditation (in liaison with CQA) of the postgraduate programmes and the marketing activities involved to promote the programmes.

Responsibilities
The major responsibilitiesofthisdivisionare as listed below:

• MQA accreditation (in liaison with CQA)
• Admissions (local and international)
• Secretariat for Graduate Assistantship scheme
• Certification of entry qualifications
• Progress monitoring
• Theses submissions
• Examinations – coursework and viva voce
• Appointments of internal and external examiners
• Student affairs
• Secretariat for UniKL Postgraduate committee
• Local and foreign universities collaborations;
  • – Postgraduate split programmes
  • – Co-supervision arrangements

Training Division

In general, the IRPS is to implement the vision and mission of UniKL as laid out by the management of the university and that of the Senate of UniKL and will continually work to improve research capabilities of UniKL and make recommendations deemed necessary to attain this goal. Ultimately, IRPS aims to make UniKL as a ‘university of choice’, excelling not only in undergraduate teaching but also as ‘a force to be reckoned with’ in the area of research and postgraduate training within the Malaysia academic landscape.
