Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) brought ‘Hari Raya’ festive happiness to about 3,000 guests at an open house, held at German Malaysian Institute (GMI) in Bangi.

Those celebrated include all the subsidiaries and educational institutions under MARA.

The Minister of Rural Development, Dato’ Seri Mahzir Khalid in his opening remarks said that the celebration aims to forge harmony while sharing the joy and progress that has been enjoyed together, among the subsidiaries.

“To date, MARA becomes one of the biggest agencies in this nation. MARA bears great responsibility and it continues its efforts to put the well-being of the people as a priority whether involved in the field of entrepreneurship or education.

“MARA also has industry partners that have boosted MARA’s name in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)-related fields. So today, I think we can celebrate the success of MARA which has been established over a period of more than 50 years,” said him, today (26 May 2022).

The celebration was also joined by the top management of Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), including its Chairman, Prof Emeritus Datuk Dr Sukiman Sarmani, as well as its President/ Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Dr Roziah Omar.

Also present, MARA chairman YB Datuk Seri Panglima Hajah Azizah Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Mohd Dun, its director-general Dato’ Azhar Abdul Manaf; and Chairman of MARA Corporation, YB Senator Dato’ Wira Othman Aziz.

As Malaysians celebrate Hari Raya, Dato Seri Mahdzir also reminded everyone to remain watchful of the Covid-19 crisis and reflect on the international crisis that is currently unfolding.
